Paul Todd Makler
A member of the U.S. fencing team at the 1952 Helsinki Games, Makler competed in the team and individual epee events. In the individual competition, he was eliminated in the first round after finishing fifth in his pool (the first four fencers advanced). In the team competition, Makler and the U.S. defeated the Soviet Union in the first round, but were eliminated in the second round. Two of Makler's teammates on the U.S. epee team were James Stauch and Albert Wolff.
Makler won a silver medal in the team foil event at the 1955 Pan American Games. He served as president of the American Fencing Association in 1962.
