A swimmer for Hungary at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, Szabados, and teammate Andras Szekely, were members of the 4x200-meter freestyle relay team. In the final, the Hungarian team won the bronze medal with a time of 9:31.4, only five seconds ahead of Canada and 21 seconds behind the silver medal-winning U.S. team.
