Eyal competed in the individual foil event at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. He won 3 of 4 bouts in the first round and finished second in his group. In the second round, Shlomo won only 2 of 4 bouts, but finished third in his group and advanced to the next round because he had made more overall touches (17) than his combined opponents (12). In the third round, Eyal won only 1 of 5 matches, to finish fifth in the group. He was thus eliminated from further competition and officially placed 19th overall.
