Louis R. Oshins

Oshins played football for CCNY (City College of New York) in the early 1920s. He then served as the school's football coach and athletic director.

b. February 13, 1902 - d. August 1975

Career Highlights:
Oshins was CCNY's first captain when the school resumed football in 1922 after a 13-year lapse. In 1927, Louis became head football coach at Brooklyn College, a post he would hold for 21 years. His most famous pupil was future New York Giants coach Allie Sherman who played quarterback from 1939-1942. Oshins also served as Brooklyn College Athletic Director and authored a four-volume series called A Handy Football Library. Oshins is a member of the CCNY Athletics Hall of Fame.
