Herman W. Sawyer

Sawyer played as a back at Syracuse in 1919. That season, the Orangemen had a record of 8-3 and outscored their opponents 123-47. After graduating, Sawyer played in the NFL with the Rochester Jeffersons. In 1922, he appeared as a wingback and blocking back in three games for Rochester which had a record of 0-3-1 and finished in fifteenth place in the NFL. The Jeffersons were coached by Sawyer's former teammate at Syracuse, offensive lineman Joe Alexander.
Sawyer played at Syracuse University in 1919. He then played wingback and blocking back in the NFL with the Rochester Jeffersons in 1922.
