Gal was a midfielder on Israel's 1976 Olympic team that reached the quarterfinals and finished fifth at the Montreal Games. He appeared in one match during the Olympics, as a substitute in Israel's 0-0 draw with Guatemala in the preliminaries. In the quarterfinal match, world powerhouse Brazil defeated Israel, 4-1, but Gal did not appear in the match.
