The reason for Kling not being enshirned into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in the 1930s-40s has nothing to do with any holdout or Jewish issue. It's because his name and nephew's, plus his hotel's business partner,"Bennie Allen," made front page news as to a 4 year federal investigation, around Charles Carollo, "KC Mob" and the T.J. Pendergast machine.Day's later another front page news story appeared in the KC paper. Judge Landis, Ford Flick, both league presidents, plus the top BBWWAA arrived in KC to attend the All-Star vs Blues game, They all stayed at the Preisdent Hotl, located next to Kling & Allen's, Dixon Hotel. Johnny Kling being the last owner of the KC Blues in 1937,for Judge Landis and the rest from the HOF, not to have heard about Johnny Kling's headline news around top gamblers & gambling operation's being mentioned just days before would have been impossible. In 1935,an article was written about Illegal gambling operations in KC which mentioned two in the basement of the exact location of Kling & Allen's hotel. In 1939, Life magazine had two different issues as to business raids in 1936 by the Fed's,court documents, mob ties, and even the governor of MO involvement as to cleaning house in KC. these articles were prior to Kling's name appearing in the KC paper. Having reviewed Kling's years personal letters, journal's,etc. I found that he a health problem years before 1937 and his selling of the Blues to the NY Yankee's. Could he have been pressured to sell his American league Team in 1937? Could any of this affected his decline in the HOF votes and stopped his enshirement after being elected in 1946 with Tinker,Evers and Chance. behind closed doors, and no records kept or released during this time period around the Mob & gambling for personal safety reasons? YES!! As to Johnny Kling proven to being Jewish to this date. The answer is NO, Please read me posting listed in 2003, which were updated as to all the errors found, especially around baseball & Jewish books, after 7+ years of research. How the latest author of the 2006 book, "Johnny Kling" failed to research and find Kling's name around a Federal Grand Jury case and illegal gambling, was all located at the KCMO Library or researched 43 years of Jewish sports books having Kling's name as being really Kline. including the Jewish All Star stamp book for Kids in 1965, plus the fact he didn't mentioned Mr. Joe Siegman "Jewish Hall of Fame" letter sent to him in 1983. as to a conversation made in the 1970s to Johnny's son-law, confirming that Kling wasn't Jewish,as did Lillian Kling in 1969.In my opinion , the lack of research and facts listed in this book is a disgrace, especially to the Jewish Community. In 1998, because of a 1948 Jewish sports book, Jonne Kling Rose and I spent years researching the Jewish sports star named Johnny Kling, and after collecting years of issues. we finally noticed they all had one thing in common. lack of research, his name was really Kline. Lee Allen's article in 1965 listed wasn't even researched until 1969.How many generation's of Jewish Little Boy's looked up to their Baseball Great and collected those All Star stamps."JOHNNY KLINE"??? 's, Plus business partner
