Jon A. Feldman

Feldman starred at George Washington University in the early 1960s and was named All-America honorable mention and second team All-Southern Conference in 1961 and 1962. One of the greatest scorers in school history (he still ranks No. 10 all-time with 1,472 career points), Jon was inducted into the GW Athletic Hall of Fame in 1980. Feldman was also named to George Washington's All-Century team (as was legendary Boston Celtics coach and general manager Red Auerbach).

Career Highlights:
In the early 1960s, Feldman was a great player for George Washington as well as one of the best scorers in the Southern Conference. During his sophomore season in 1960, he averaged 21.1 points per game (fourth in conference) as the Colonials had a record of 16-10 (7-5 in conference). Feldman also had an excellent conference tournament and was named second team All-tournament as he led GW to the finals.

The following season (1961), Feldman was even better; he scored 21.5 points per game and was named second team All-Southern Conference, All-America honorable mention, and UPI Little All-America. It was in the postseason, however, that Feldman really starred. He led the 9-16 (3-9 in conference) Colonials to a surprise berth in the championship game, scoring a conference tournament record 45 points and outgunning William & Mary's Jeff Cohen (38 points) to lead the Colonials to victory.

Because of his outstanding performance while leading the Colonials to the Southern Conference championship, Feldman was named Southern Conference Tournament MVP, and first team All-tournament. More importantly, George Washington earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament (only the school's second appearance in the tournament). Unfortunately, their season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA. The Colonials faced a tough Princeton team, which held Feldman to only 11 points on 5-22 shooting.(he also had 5 rebounds) and defeated the cinderella GW team, 84-67.

Feldman closed his career in 1962 with a career-high 21.7 scoring average although GW finished 9-15 (6-7 in conference). He repeated as second team All-Southern Conference and All-America honorable mention. Jon was also named second team All-tournament, but couldn't repeat his heroics of the previous year and the Colonials fell short of the conference crown.
