In 1920, Cohen was a very talented guard for Yale, earning a nod as a second team All-Ivy League player. That year, Solon teamed with starting forward Harry Alderman and led his squad to a second place finish in the conference. They had a conference record of 6-4, and were 16-8 overall. In a late season game against Dartmouth, Cohen scored eight points while coming off the bench and Yale defeated their conference rivals, 42-21.
