Charles Farer was the older brother of Louis Farer, and played basketball at both NYU (New York University) and Columbia in the second decade of the 20th century. During his college career, Charles was one of the Ivy League�s top scorers. He also played football at both schools.

Career Highlights:
Charles began his college basketball career at New York University (NYU) in 1915, but then transferred schools and attended Columbia University. A two-year starter for the Lions, Farer was the Ivy League�s tenth best scorer in 1917 with 56 points (5.6 average). That season, Columbia finished fifth at 3-7 (6-8 overall). The following year (1918), Farer improved to seventh in the league (52 points in 10 games), but Columbia again finished fifth at 2-8 (4-9 overall).
