Harlan F. Karnofsky

The son of former NFL player Abe Karnofsky, Harlan played at the University of Utah under former New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel in the late 1970s.

Karnofsky is also a terrific golfer. He qualified for the National Long Drive Championship in 1986 and finished 12th. Harlan's longest career drive is an incredible 409 yards; he is currently a 1 handicap.

Career Highlights:
A five-sport letterwinner in high school (football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf), Karnofsky attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship. He played quarterback for the Utes under coach Jim Fassell, and won All-WAC (Western Athletic Conference) Academic honors his senior year. In 1979, Harlan was also named team captain for the Utes' game at Tennessee in front of 86,000 (a 51-18 loss in front of the largest crowd to ever watch a Utah game). The Utes finished 6-6 that year after a 8-3 record in 1978.

After graduating, Karnofsky played in 1981 as a defensive back with his hometown Sacramento Buffalos, a semi-pro ball team. He signed with the Denver Gold of the USFL the following year, but did not play with the team.
