Anspach was a member of the Belgian fencing team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics and won a gold medal in the team epee competition (his teammates included his brother, the individual epee champion, Paul Anspach, famous artist Jacques Ochs, and Gaston Salmon). Anspach also competed in individual events, and reached the semifinals in both the individual foil and individual epee before being eliminated. He officially finished 16th in the foil and 12th in the epee.
