Lazarus was a member of the United States boxing team at the 1924 Paris Olympics, competing in the bantamweight division (he was 21 years old according to the Official Olympic Report). He received a bye in the first round of the Games and was immediately placed in the final 16. In his first, and only, bout of the tournament, Lazarus lost to his Swedish opponent when he was disqualified for a foul in the second-round.

Career Highlights:
Lazarus, who attended Cornell University, finished second at the 1924 U.S. National amateur championships in the bantamweight division, but still competed in the Olympic Games.
