At the 1908 Games, Bodor competed in three events for the Hungarian track and field team. He won one medal, a bronze, as the anchor leg of the medley relay (200-200-400-800); the Hungarians actually had the same time as Germany (3:32.5), but the Germans were awarded the silver at the finish. Bodor also competed in two solo events, the 800-meter and 1,500-meter. He had little success in the longer distance, finishing eighth in his preliminary heat, but almost medaled in the 800-meter. After winning his preliminary heat by two meters in a time of 1:58.6, he finished fourth in the final with a time of 1:55.4, missing a medal by only 0.2 seconds. Following his performance, Bodor was awarded the Olympic Diploma of Merit.

Career Highlights:
Bodor was Hungary's best middle distance runner in the early 20th century, winning the National title in both the 880 and one mile. He also held National records in the 440-yards (52.0), 880-yards (1:59.6), 1000-yards (2:40.0), 1,500-meters (4:23.4), and one mile (4:34.8).
