Olympic Info:
One of the greatest female fencers in Olympic history, Uslaky-Rejto competed in five Olympiads for Hungary, winning seven medals. At her first Olympiad, the 1960 Rome Games, she won a silver medal as a member of Hungary's foil team. She then won gold medals in both the individual and team foil events at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Uslaky-Rejto won bronze medals in both events at the 1968 Mexico City Games, a silver medal in the team foil at the 1972 Munich Games, and a bronze medal in the team foil at the 1976 Olympics.

Career Highlights:
Born deaf, Uslaky-Rejto was one of the best female fencers in the world in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She began fencing at the age of 15, with her coaches writing down their instructions for her on pieces of paper. Ildiko won the junior world foil championship in 1956-57, was the Hungarian foil champion in 1958, and was the World foil champion in 1963. She has continued to compete, and in 1999, Ildiko won the women's foil at the World Veterans Championships (over 60 years old). She is a member of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
