Frank was a member of the United States track and field team at the 1948 London Olympic Games, and competed in the men's discus throw. In the qualifying round, Frank finished in the top 12 and did not advance to the finals.

Career Highlights:
Between 1948-1951, Frank was ranked in the top ten in the world in the discus throw. In 1949, he rose to his highest ranking, No. 3. Frank attended Yale from 1947-1950 and was one of the most dominant discus throwers in the nation. He won the Ivy League discus championship from 1948-50, setting the meet record in 1949 with a throw of 177'11 1/4" and held that record until 1979! Frank was also successful football player. He was named AP All-Ivy League second team in 1947 and AP All-Ivy League honorable mention in 1948.
