Olympic Info:
A terrific fencer in the 1950s, Cohen was a member of both the epee and sabre teams for the United States at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. In the team epee event, the U.S. was eliminated in the first round after losing to Great Britain, 9-7 (Cohen won one of his four matches), and Italy (Cohen again won only one of four bouts). In the team sabre competition, the U.S. automatically advanced to the semifinals, where they were eliminated after losing to Poland (10-6), and Hungary (9-1). Among Cohen's teammates on the U.S. fencing team were sabre fencers Norman Armitage, Allan Kwartler, and George Worth, and epee specialist Ralph Goldstein.

Career Highlights:
Cohen was the U.S. epee champion in 1955 and 1956. A graduate of the City College of New York (class of 1948), he is a member of the CCNY Athletic Hall of Fame.
