A member of the United States sailing team at the 1972 Munich Olympics, Cohan competed in the Dragon class. After finishing fourth in the first race, he steadily improved during the competition, winning the fifth race and placing third in the third race. At the completion of all seven races, Cohan was awarded the bronze medal with 47.7 penalty points.

Career Highlights:
Cohan, a graduate of Amherst University, class of '51, who competed in the 1972 Olympics at the age of 42, has continued to compete internationally at a high level through the 1990s; he finished 5th at the 2000 Soling North American Championship.
