Milchin, a pitcher, was a member of United States baseball team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics when baseball was a demonstration sport. In the preliminary round, the American team defeated South Korea (5-3), Australia (12-2), and lost to Canada (7-8), but won their pool and advanced to the semifinals. They then captured the gold medal by defeating Puerto Rico in the semifinals (7-2) and Japan in the final (5-3). Among Milchin's teammates at the Games were pitcher Ben McDonald and first baseman Tino Martinez.

Career Highlights:
Milchin, a star pitcher for Clemson University in the late 1980s, participated in the longest game in NCAA tournament history -- 19 innings! He played one season in the majors and pitched in 39 games in 1996 for the Baltimore Orioles and Minnesota Twins. Milchin had a 3-1 won-lost record, and struck out 29 hitters in 32.2 innings.
