A member of Israel's first-ever Olympic team at the 1952 Helsinki Games, Horovitz was scheduled to compete in two events for the track and field team. In the 80-meter hurdles, Lea set an Israeli record with a time of 12.4, but finished sixth in her preliminary heat, and did not advance to the next round. Horovitz was also scheduled to run in the 100-meter sprint, but did not compete in the event.
