A member of Israel's track and field team at the 1952 Helsinki Games (the first time Israel participated in the Olympics), Winterberg competed in the women's discus event. In the preliminary round, Olga had a throw of 35.79-meters (117'5"), and missed qualifying for the finals by less than .30-meters.

Career Highlights:
In the 1950s and 1960s, Winterberg was Israel's best female thrower. In May 1960, she set the national record in the discus throw with a distance of 43.02-meters (141'3"). As of March 2000, it was still the sixth best individual result in Israel's history.
