At the 2000 Syndey Olympic Games, Palina was a member of the Russian table tennis team. In the women's singles competition, she won her first two matches over Mary Musoke of Uganda and Ah Sim Song of Hong Kong. In the second round, Palina was eliminated from the competition after losing to Krisztina Toth of Hungary in straight sets (15-21,16-21, 7-21).

Career Highlights:
At the 1994 European Championships, Palina won the gold medal in the team table tennis competition, and the silver medal in the women's double event. At the 1999 Italian Open, she finished third in the women's singles event.
