Moglia was a member of the Uruguayan men's basketball team at the 1956 Melbourne Games. They began the competition well, winning their first five games: over Bulgaria (70-65), China (85-62), Korea (83-60), the Philippines (79-70 in overtime), and Chile (80-73) before losing to France (66-62). Uruguay's 5-1 record in the preliminaries advanced them to the finals, where they were beaten by the Bill Russell-led United States team, 101-38. In the third place game, Moglia and Uruguay avenged their previous loss to France in the preliminaries by defeating the French team, 71-62 to capture the bronze medal.

Career Highlights:
In the 1950s and 1960s, Moglia was one of Uruguay's top basketball players. He first played for the Uruguayan National team in 1953 at the South American Championships, helping them win the tournament; Uruguay repeated as South American champions in 1955 and finished second in 1960. In 1957, Moglia set a National record with 68 points in a game (a record that stood until 1983). He was a member of the National team until 1968. His son, also named Oscar, is currently a member of the Uruguayan National team and played in Brazil for Hebraica Macabi.
