Kahan was a member of Belgium's track and field team at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and competed in the 800-meter run. He finished in sixth place in his preliminary heat with a time of 1:47.69, and did not qualify for the next round.

Career Highlights:
At the 1993 World Championships, Nathan was a semifinalist in the 800-meter race with a time of 1:45.75, the third-fastest 800 time in Belgian history to that point.

In August 1997, Kahan moved up to second in Belgium's national history, with a time of 1:44.87. Earlier that month, he had competed in the World Championships, but did not advance past the quarterfinals. At the 1998 European Championships, Kahan made it to the semifinals after winning his preliminary heat, but finished seventh (1:48.39) and did not advance to the finals.
