Tobis was a member of Israel's swimming team at the 1968 Mexico City Games, competing in three events. In the 100-meter butterfly, she finished in third place in her preliminary heat in a time of 1:12.0, but did not advance to the semifinals (the top 16 finishers advanced and Tobis's time placed her 19th). She also swam in the 200-meter individual medley, finishing fourth in her preliminary heat (2:47.0), and in the 400-meter individual medley, finishing sixth in her heat (5:58.8); Tobis did not advance past the first round in either event.
