Gaudet, who converted to Judaism, played in six games over two season with the Kansas City Royals in the late 1970s.

Career Highlights:
Gaudet attended Jesuit High School in his home town of New Orleans and went on to play for Tulane University from 1974-76. The catcher was drafted in the 6th round of the 1976 amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals. Jim made his major league debut on September 10, 1978 for the Royals. Gaudet played in 3 games, and was hitless in eight at bats in his rookie season. The Royals finished first in the American League West but lost the ALCS to the Yankees 3-1. Jim participated in three games again in 1979, this time he got a hit in 6 at bats for a .167 average. Kansas City were second in the division, a mere three games behind the Angels. Gaudet was sent down to the minors at the end of the season, never to return.
