Myron Walter Drabowsky

As a three year-old, Moe fled Poland with his Jewish mother in 1938, escaping the blitz. A colorful relief pitcher with a number of teams in the fifties and sixties, he also pitched two one-hitters as a starter. Over the course of his distinguished 17-year career, he pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Braves, Kansas City Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago White Sox. He had the dubious distinction of yielding Stan Musial's 3000th hit, and was the losing pitcher when Early Wynn won his 300th game.

Career Highlights:
In 1957, his first full season, he won 13 games, and his 179 strikeouts were the second-most in the National League. In 1966 with the Orioles, he was undefeated at 6-0. His ERA that year was 2.81; in the next three seasons, it was 1.60, 1.91, and 2.94, a truly remarkable streak of fine pitching.
