Edward Wineapple

Wineapple, an extraordinary all-around athlete, pitched one game for the Washington Senators in 1929, with no decision. He was also the first Jewish basketball player to ever receive national All-America honors as a college hoopster (Ed played for Providence). Lefty later played pro basketball.

In his one major league appearance, Wineapple pitched four innings, had a strikeout, and finished with a 4.50 ERA. One of his teammates on the Senators was all-star second baseman Buddy Myer.
