Career Highlights:
In 1950, Miller was a member of the Syracuse team that finished the regular season with a record of 17-8 and went on to play in the NIT. After a first-round win over Long Island (80-52), the Orangemen lost 78-68 to No. 1 ranked Bradley; Miller averaged 6.5 points in the NIT competition.

In 1951, Miller and the Orangemen competed in both the prestigious Sugar Bowl tournament and the National Campus Basketball Tournament. Held at Bradley University's Robertson Memorial Field House, Syracuse won the Campus tournament by defeating the top-ranked Bradley squad, 76-75. The Orangemen finished the season with a record of 19-9. The following year, Miller's senior season, Syracuse finished 14-6.

After college, Miller played in the NBA for Milwaukee and Baltimore. He was drafted by Milwaukee in 1952, but after beginning the season with the Hawks, was sent to the Baltimore Bullets. In his rookie season (1952-53), he finished 11th in the league in rebounding average with 9.6 per game while playing for the lowly Bullets (16-54); the team holds the distinction of being the worst team ever to qualify for the playoffs. In the playoffs, the Bullets lost to the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals, 2 games to 0. Miller was a bright spot for the Bullets, however, as he scored 33 points, five assists and grabbed an amazing 36 rebounds in the series.

The following season, Miller finished 16th in the league in rebounding with 7.5 per game as the Bullets finished with a record of 16-56, and in the basement of the Eastern Conference. He retired after the 1953-54 season after playing in 142 games during his NBA career.
