Meyer S. Bloom

Bloom was an outstanding basketball player for Syracuse University in the second decade of the 20th century. He succeeded football player Harry Kallet as president of ZBT, the first Jewish fraternity at Syracuse. Bloom later became a doctor.

Career Highlights:
Bloom played for Syracuse in the 1910s. In 1912, the Orangemen had a record of 11-3 and were considered one of the top teams in the nation. The following year, they also had a powerful squad and posted a 8-3 record. In 1914, Syracuse had a truly superb year; Bloom was captain, and led his team to an undefeated season (12-0), establishing the Orange as one of the finest teams in the country.
