Stanley Jaloff

A forward, Jaloff starred at the University of Washington in the late 1920s. He led the Huskies to the Pacific Coast Conference (forerunner of the Pac 10) Northern Division title for three straight years, from 1928-1930.

Career Highlights:
Nicknamed 'Jiggs,' Jaloff was a terrific player at the University of Washington, helping to lead his team to back-to-back PCC Northern Division titles. In 1928, they were one of the best college basketball teams in the West, finishing first with a conference record of 9-1 (22-6 overall). In the PCC championship against Southern Division champ USC (University of Southern California), Washington fell in two games to the Trojans, 53-50 and 25-24.

In 1929, Jaloff was the conference's second leading scorer and was named first team All-Pacific Coast Conference Northern Division. The Huskies had another outstanding team and repeated as PCC Northern Division champions with a 10-0 conference mark (18-2 overall). They returned to the PCC Championship, and faced California (Southern Division champ), losing the best-of-three series to the Golden Bears, 43-31 and 30-27.

As a senior in 1930, Jaloff helped lead the Huskies capture their third consecutive PCC North championship with a 12-4 conference record (21-7 overall). In the PCC playoffs, the Huskies faced the favored USC Trojans and lost first game, 46-31; Jaloff scored seven points. In the second game, Washington upset USC, 36-31 (Jaloff scored six points). The third and final game was played in front of 8,000 fans and won by USC, 37-29. Jaloff was held scoreless in the contest.
