Berger was a top player for Rochester College for three years in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Career Highlights:
In 1959, Berger led Rochester College to a record of 4-14. The following year, they improved to 9-9 and then got even better the next season. In 1961, his senior season, Berger was named All-America honorable mention while leading Rochester to a terrific 17-6 season. That season, Rochester played in the Division III NCAA tournament for the first time.
