Career Highlights:
In 1948, Sherry was named first team All-Ivy League and helped lead the Lions to a national ranking (No. 20) with a 21-1 regular season record. They also won the Ivy League title and an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. In the first round, Marshall scored four points, but Columbia lost, 76-53, to the eventual National Champion, Kentucky. In the East Regional consolation game, he scored only five points as Columbia lost to Michigan, 66-49.

The following season, Marshall had another fine season. He was named second team All-Ivy League and finished seventh in the conference in scoring with 11.3 points per game. Columbia, however, could not repeat it's success of the previous year and finished the season with a record of 14-6 (8-4 in conference). In his senior season (1950), Marshall was again named second team All-Ivy League, and the Lions had a good season, finishing 22-7, but came in second in the conference (9-3) and therefore did not play in the postseason.
