In the mid-1950s Cohen played three seasons for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He is third all-time in school history in career rebounds per game with a 10.3 average. Lennie is a member of the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame

Career Highlights:
Cohen was a three-year starter at a forward/center for Georgia Tech, beginning in 1955 when the Yellow Jackets finished sixth in the Southeast Conference (SEC) with a 7-7 record (12-13 overall). During the season, Tech upset No. 1 Kentucky, 59-58; Cohen scored 10 points for the Jackets. He finished the year with a 12.7 points per game average. The following season, Cohen averaged 12.4 points per game as Georgia Tech posted a record of 12-11 (5-8 in SEC). In 1956-57, his senior season, Cohen moved from forward to center and averaged a career-high 13.4 points per game as Georgia Tech finished 18-8 (9-5).
