Frank, Leonard

Leonard earned three letters in basketball with the University of Minnesota Gophers during the second decade of the 20th century, and played in the Western Conference, the predecessor of the Big Ten. He was also an All-America football player for Minnesota.

b. Dec. 1, 1889 - d. April 1967

Career Highlights:
Frank first played varsity basketball in 1910 when the Gophers finished second in the Western Conference with a 7-3 record (10-3 overall). The following year, Minnesota tied for first with Purdue at 8-4, but Purdue had a better overall record at 11-4 (Minnesota was 10-4). Frank played his final season in 1912, although Minnesota did not perform as well as it had done in the past. The team finished fourth in the conference with a record of 6-6 (7-6 overall).
