Richard Pinck

Pinck was a three-sport star for Washington and Lee, playing football, basketball, and tennis (and winning nine letters in all). He is a member of the Washington and Lee University Hall of Fame

Career Highlights:
Considered one the best college players in the state of Virginia during the first half of the 20th Century, Pinck was named first-team All-State each of his three varsity seasons at Washington and Lee (1939-41). A forward, he was also the team�s leading scorer every year he played.

In 1939, Pinck was one of four sophomores in the starting line-up (with one junior -- no seniors ) and he led the Generals to a second place finish in the Southern Conference with a 8-3 record (14-7 overall). During the season, he scored 34 points against Richmond in a Southern Conference game (a school record until 1951) and led the team in scoring with 308 points, setting a conference record.

Dick was named All-Southern Conference in 1939 and 1940. In Pinck's senior season (1941), Washington and Lee finished fourth in the conference with a 9-4 record (they were 11-11 overall).
