Harold Korovin

Korovin was an All-Metropolitan performer while at City College of New York (CCNY). He later played professionally in the New York State Basketball League, the ABL (American Basketball League), the NBL (National Basketball League), and the Eastern League. Hal is a member of the CCNY Athletic Hall of Fame.

Career Highlights:
Korovin played for legendary coach Nat Holman at CCNY in the mid-1940s. In 1944, Hal was the team's starting center and the Beavers finished with a record of 6-11. He was the team's second leading scorer (and 11th in the New York Metropolitan area) with 138 points.

The following year, Korovin returned as City's starting center and was named second team All-Metropolitan. The Beavers improved their record to 12-4, but did not play in the post-season. After graduating, Korovin played professionally for a number of years.

In 1947-48, Korovin played in two professional leagues, the NBL and ABL. He appeared in three games for the Flint Dow A.C.'s and scored 11 points. He also played for the Troy Celtics in the ABL (American Basketball League). Based on sparse records, Hal appeared in eight games for Troy, scoring 3.6 points per game.
