Palitz, who played at City College of New York in the 1920s, later received a medical degree and became a doctor.

Career Highlights:
Palitz played at CCNY in the mid-1920s when the basketball program was starting to become one of the best in the country under head coach Nat Holman. In 1923, the Beavers finished 12-1, with their only loss coming to Syracuse 31-30. They won their final six games of that season and then won the first 12 games of the 1924 season before facing NYU in the finale. The Violets ended City's 18-game winning streak with a 28-24 win. Palitz and the Beavers rebounded the following season, finishing 12-2 and avenging the previous year's defeat by beating NYU 34-24.
