Leonard L. Palmer

A high school and basketball coach in the early decades of the twentieth century, Palmer led CCNY (City College of New York) from 1909-1916 and DeWitt Clinton High School (in the Bronx) from 1918-1928.

Career Highlights:
The first basketball coach at CCNY, Palmer (who first gained fame as a gymnast), served from 1909-1916, and compiled a 71-41 record. During his tenure, he coached such early greats as Barney Sedran, Ira Streusand, Harry Brill, and Shorty Goldman.
