A flyweight and bantamweight in the 1930s, Goldman fought Ernie Maurer for the Michigan bantamweight title in August 1932, but lost the bout on an eighth-round technical knockout. The following February, Goldman's fought Lou Salica, the future world bantamweight champion. Salica, in only his 11th professional fight, defeated Goldman in a six-round decision.
