The British lightweight champion in 1923 and 1925, Mason moved up to welterweight and middleweight by the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Career Highlights:
In 1927, Mason travelled to America and fought future world welterweight champ Tommy Freeman in New York; he lost a 10-round decision. Three years later, Mason fought former welterweight champ Joe Dundee and lost a 10-round decision.
