Reynolds had his first big fight in 1911 against Hall of Famer Johnny Dundee; the bout ended in a six-round no decision. In April 1914, he fought featherweight champ Johnny Kilbane in another no decision; they had a rematch the following year that also ended in a no decision. In 1914, Bobby fought lightweights Rocky Kansas (lost a 12-round decision) and Benny Leonard (a 10-round no decision).
