Career Highlights:
Yanger began his career in 1899 and knocked out Young Corbett II in the eighth round the following year. Yanger and Corbett, who would become world featherweight champion in 1901, fought again in November 1901 and the bout ended in a draw. In 1901, Yanger then faced the great George Dixon and defeated him in a 15-round decision. By the mid-1900s, he was fighting as a lightweight, but did not get a title shot. Yanger defeated the great featherweight champion Abe Attell, but was knocked out in the fourth-round by Hall of Famer Packey McFarland in 1907. He retired two years later, having won 51 of 81 career decisions.
