Barney Schneider

Career Highlights:
Fighting out of Boston in the 1910s, Snyder was a terrific amateur before turning pro and he won the U.S. amateur title in both the 105-pound and 108-pound weight class in 1913. After turning pro, Barney fought the great Lew Tendler in 1915 and the bout ended in a six-round no decision. Five years later, Snyder fought future bantamweight champion Abe Goldstein and the bout ended in a 12-round draw. Barney's final big fight of his career came a year later in April 1921 when he was knocked out in the fifth round by Hall of Famer Pete "Kid" Herman.
