Halper, who fought in the middle weights in the 1930s, is a member of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. After retiring, Halper became a real estate developer in Los Angeles.

b. January 27, 1909 - d. March 15, 1967

Career Highlights:
Born in Russia, Halper was a welterweight and middleweight in the 1930s and began his career in Newark, New Jersey in January 1930, and lost a 10-round decision to Al Delmont. In 1935, he had a 10-round draw with Joey Bazzone and then was knocked out in the eighth-round by the great Barney Ross in January 1936.
