Buck, Scott

Scott Buckzeiger

A tough lightweight whose current record is 13-12-1, Buck's most recent fight was on August 8, 2002 against Rico Tann. In a bout held in Detroit, Buck lost on a third-round technical knockout. He had not fought since July 2001 when he fought talented 17 year-old Juan Diaz. In the first round, Buck and Diaz began at a fast and furious pace; but a hook to the body from the youngster dropped Buck midway through the round. Buck got up from one knee and attacked his opponent, but was quickly knocked down again, and the fight was stopped at 2:26 of the first-round.

Career Highlights:
A lightweight from Detroit, Buck began his professional career in 1993 and won both his fights that year, knocking out Robert Turner in the first round and winning a four-round decision over Bob Rishea. The following year, Buck fought five times, winning four -- all by technical knockout in the first or second round. A very popular fighter in the state of Michigan (where he fights most of his bouts), Buck continued to fight well in the mid-1990s with victories over Levi Gray and Darren Crockett in 1995, Damien Duquestrada in 1996, and Chico Crout in 1998.

After fighting only once in 1999 (he lost on a TKO in the first round to Pasqual Rouse), Buck fought twice in 2000, including a December 1 bout in Las Vegas against Calvin Davis (Scott lost an eight-round decision). Buck's first fight in 2001 was against fellow Detroit native Bernard Harris, the former NBA featherweight champion. Their April 10 bout in Warren, Michigan went the distance, and Buck lost a split decision. As of September 2002, Buck has fought 26 times and won 13 bouts.
