Career Highlights:
A lightweight from Canada, Mandell participated in the 1957 Maccabiah Games before turning professional. In September 1968, he fought Al Ford for the vacant Canadian lightweight title but lost a 12-round decision. The following month, he lost to future Canadian and Commonwealth welterweight champion Clyde Gray in an eight-round decision. Mandell retired in the late 1970s, having never received another title shot.
