A super-lightweight, Wolin began his professional career in 1987 and won his first pro fight on December 4 over Jore Longonia in a second-round TKO. Inactive the following year, Steve then fought seven bouts in 1989, winning five, including first-round knockouts over Tony Frontela, Jose Vilarino, Jose Lora, and Pedro Gomez. Inactive again in 1990, he returned to the ring in 1991 and fought three bouts (winning two) before retiring that year with 8 victories in 11 career fights.
