Career Highlights:
After winning the NCAA lightweight title in 1954, Garber turned professional following his graduation from the University of Maryland. In November 1967, he travelled to Sydney, Australia to face Australian bantamweight champion Lionel Rose. Garber lost a 10-round decision to Rose, who would win the world title only three months later. In July 1968, Garber was knocked out in the fifth round by Ruben Olivares in Torreon, Mexico. Olivares went on to win the world title from Rose the following year.
