Wiseman was a bantamweight in the 1930s. He was ranked in the top ten in the division by Ring magazine in 1933.

Career Highlights:
Born in Iowa, Wiseman began his professional career in his hometown of Des Moines in the late 1920s. In January 1931, Hymie fought Archie Bell, who would fight for the world bantamweight championship four months later. The bout, which took place in Des Moines, ended in a ten-round no decision.

In May 1931, Wiseman fought Bushy Graham, former world bantamweight champion, to an eight-round no decision. Two weeks after the bout with Graham, Hymie fought Midget Mike O'Dowd in Chicago, which ended in a six-round draw. Wiseman then went on the road and fought throughout the Midwest, including Minneapolis (Minnesota), Milwaukee (Wisconsin), Kansas City (Missouri), and Sioux City (Iowa).

In August 1932, Wiseman fought Freddie Miller, who would capture the world featherweight championship the following year. The bout, which took place in Chicago Stadium in Chicago, went the full eight rounds, but Wiseman lost the decision. He continued to fight for another few years and then retired. He returned to Des Moines, where he helped run an athletic club.
